Short-billed Dowitcher

ABA 1

(Limnodromus griseus)

Short-billed Dowitcher is very similar to Long-billed Dowitcher, and they are most reliably separated by their flight calls. Bill length alone is not reliable. Both have a bobbing, drilling feeding motion from which their names are derived. Short-billed has a predilection for salt water beaches.
